Macros
 

I'm not new to Excell but I have never used VBA to create and run a macro. I
am trying to create a macro to perform various functions in a workbook when a
cell is clicked on.

I am working with an inventory workbook and I want to move values from one
column to another on a worksheet, then zero the contents of columns in other
sheets in the workbook.

Is this a viable routine or am I expecting too much?

Any help would be most welcome.

That is very possible. Obviously more info would be required. My only caution
is that you need to be very careful deleteing things. There is no Undo on a
macro so deleted is deleted... No turning back. I normally avoid deleteing. I
will make a copy of the original and delete from the copy or something
similar...

Thanks for the response. Sorry I should have explained better. The routine
that I wish to design is one which would save the file as "filename" + the
current date. Then the original file would have the changes made to it. I
want to move the values from a "Closing Stock" column to the "Open Stock"
column then delete the "closing Stock" figures plus the entries for
deliveries on the other worksheets in the workbook. Thus preparing the
inventory workbook for a new month.

What kind of routine would do this?
