Pivot Item: removing non-existant item from the drop down

My Pivot Table data set has changed. On refresh, the new pivot items are
added to the drop down box; the ones which no longer exist are not removed.
Is there a way to refresh the list to show only items that currently exist?

Thanks in advance!
