Compare and Copy

I have two separate worksheets. Worksheet 1 contains a list of position
#s (personnel). Worksheet 2 contains a list of position #s (Column A)
with individual names (Column B). My task is to compare position #s in
the two worksheets and when they match, copy and paste the corresponding
user name from Worksheet B to Worksheet A adjacent to the appropriate
position #. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you are looking for the VLookup Formula. It looks up a value in a
range of values and returns a corresponding record from the range. If that
is not what you need let me know.

Thanks for the response Jim. I too think the VLOOKUP works for the
comparison of values, but the second piece is where I'm stumped

"and when they match, copy and paste the corresponding user name from
Worksheet B to Worksheet A adjacent to the appropriate position #."

Thanks for the help.
