importing a csv file into Excel
Hi,
I am trying to import a csv file into Excel and keep encountering a problem. Basically if I have a long number (i.e. 12345678784545454244) it ends up like this 1.23456E+18. If i enter a ' infront it displays the number OK with the exception thet ' is also displayed (i.e. '12345678784545454244). Is there any other way or a work round available to get around this? Note: The csv file is created from a XSL sheet i.e. XSL creates the csv file which is then opened in excel. Thanks in advance, J |

Rename the file from .CSV to .txt
When you do the import, tell the wizard that the data is Text. -- Gary's Student "JenC" wrote: Hi, I am trying to import a csv file into Excel and keep encountering a problem.
