Add-in functionality with .xml files
Dear group,
I have an instrument at my place of work which exports data to Excel as a .xml file. The machine opens Excel directly and exports the data, leaving the sheet open on the screen. I have created an add-in which contains code to carry out an analysis of the data. The macro from the add-in is launched from a new button on the menu bar and it works well. However, and here is the but,.. the new button is only available when I have previously launched Excel. When the instrument opens Excel the button is not available. If I double click the icon of a saved data file and open it with Excel the button is also available. I'm sure I have missed something simple here but can anyone tell me how I might get the add-in to launch every time Excel is opened, even when the instrument launches Excel? Many thanks in anticiaption. Simon |
