How is one to create parameter web query in excel 2002

I earlier used to create parameter query in excel 2000 with something like
["parameter name"]
and go through the <run saved query

but this does not work in excel 2002. I tried through google groups search
I did not get any webpage.
excel 2002 help is not of much help.
any suggestions.
