macro to compare file columns
 

I need a macro to open two text files and compare various columns in them.
You may need to compare column 1 in file 1 with column 3 in file two.

I have seen things that sound similar on the net but I am leary of
downloading executable files to install an xl file. Does anyone know of such
a file that they can recommend? I know I could write on but why if one is
available.
