Conditional Addition

Hi All,
Any shortcuts on doing conditional addition in a column based on another
column e.g
Col_B Col_C
8 Denied
8 Approved
8 Denied
8 Approved
8 Approved
Add the total to bottom of column B only if its "Approved" in Column C.
