Event Macro

I have been asked the following by sa friend. I do not know the answer

"does anyone know how to write what i think is called an "event macro"

let's say that i have a simple spreadsheet that adds up a column o
numbers... i want to write a macro that will automatically run anothe
macro (say one that colours in a certain cell a particular colour
whenever the subtotal goes above a certain level.

note that i know how to use conditional formatting etc, the abov
example is very much a simplified version of what i'm trying to do
the second macro in question is actually a goalseek in another part o
the workbook.

thanks! "

Can anyone help
