him im really new to all this, but i want to make a gui for an excel
document, that has input fields, once the command button is pressed for
a particular field it puts the tect that is in the text box into a
specific cell, i have no idea how to do this, but any help would be
greatly appreciated thanks :)

You might be able to use the built-in Data|Form.

If that's close, but not quite it, maybe John Walkenbach's enhanced dataform at:
http://j-walk.com/ss/dataform/index.htm
may be sufficient

And if you want to create your own, then Debra Dalgleish has a get started with
