Vertical bands on Excel graph

All...

- I have a dual y-axis line chart which plots only two sets of data.
- The x-axis is year (1973, 1974, et al)

I would like to show economic recessions as gray vertical bands on the
chart...whether I can do this on the existing chart or have to overlay
another chart on top I don't know.

Regardless, even with only 1 simple chart, can non-routine irregular
bands be shown like I desire? If so, how?

Thanks - hope I explained the question well enough...any help
apppreciated.
