how to request Code-signing certificate
How do I create a request for a certificate for code-signing for my excel
macros on my internal (subordinate-)CA? When I search for this I find only the possibility for using selfcert but I need a corperate wide solution. |

If you truly need a corporate-wide solution, you will probably want to contact your IT department to see if they can generate a certificate for you. Most organizations have some type of internal certificate server running. -- Regards, Jake Marx www.longhead.com [please keep replies in the newsgroup - email address unmonitored] |
how to request Code-signing certificate
Thanks Jake for your answer, but:
I have an internal CA running and I have enabled the code-signing certificate template. But when I want to make a certificate I must feed the CA with a request. I must paste a "Base-64-encoded certificate request" at the CA request-form. How do I get this request from Office/Excel? I'm not really sure how you would generate the request. Maybe through the Certificates snap-in to the MMC. Go to start | run and type mmc and hit enter. Then add the certificates snap-in. Right-click on Personal and select All Tasks -- Request New Certificate and go from there. Does that work, or is that what you've already tried? I know IIS can generate certificate requests in the format your CA is looking for - maybe you could go that route? Sorry - I've never done code-signing with anything besides the selfcert.exe option. -- Regards, Jake Marx www.longhead.com [please keep replies in the newsgroup - email address unmonitored] |
