This is what I am trying to do:
e.g. A cell has the following reference: ='G:\Finance\Tax\7-1 Plan\P1 I want to change it to: ='G:\Finance\Tax\10-1 Plan\P1 so that '7-1 Plan' or '10-1 Plan' is the reference cell in another workbook. Thanks! SB |

There must be a reason you don't just edit it, but you don't say what. If
there are many instances, you could use the Find & replace option, Ctrl-H. -- HTH Bob Phillips "SB1979" wrote in message ... You can't have a variable/dynamic link to a closed workbook. You would need
a macro that makes the adjustment by hardcoding the link. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "SB1979" wrote in message ... Harlan Grove did write a UDF you might want to explore (to overcome the
limitation I spoke of) http://tinyurl.com/9cgdc code is toward the bottom of the thread. -- Regards, Tom Ogilvy "SB1979" wrote in message ... Don't know how you got the link there in the first place, but
You could create the hyperlink with HYPERLINK Worksheet Formula without macros. If you created the link within a macro, simply change what you create. Don't know how many alternate locations you want to change it to, Is this just a single cell or are you trying to change all occurrences within a workbook. --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel [site changed Nov. 2001] My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "SB1979" wrote in message ...
