Are you looking in the User Defined Functions category?

Hi Tom,
Nothing strikes a bell with me, Don't know if you are using = in a cell before using Insert, Function or the [fx] button, which gets the list and I think you say you see the list. Did the module name begin with "Module" before you renamed it? Is the workbook open? Is it hidden? Is it in your personal.xls? Is it in the same workbook? Does it work if you code it something similar to =personal.xls!myfunction(A1) You might check over http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/getstarted.htm http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/install.htm --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel [site changed Nov. 2001] My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "tom mcdonald" wrote in message news:tom.mcdonald.1wol2b_1128938723.6372@excelforu m-nospam.com... hi all, I've inserted a public function in a ordinary module called (bytereverse) but when I try to insert it using the insert function its not there under user defined functions.
