Hi Lynn,
Save the macro in the Personal.xls workbook stored in the XLStart folder. The macro will then be available to all open workbooks. --- Regards, Norman "Lynn" wrote in message ... hi, how can i make a macro available for use everytime i start excel? thanks |

Sorry for the double post...
You can also put your macro in a startup template file (.xlt) and place it in the default startup template folder. You can also create a toolbar (in your startup template) with a button that runs your macro. Then it will be available to all Excel workbooks. Hi Lynn.
when i tried to run Tools - Macro, i don't see the Workbook_Open macro there. where did i do wrong? My suggestion did not relate to Workbook_Open. I suggested saving your macro in your Personal macro workbook. you may wish to visit David McRitchie's 'Getting Started With Macros And User Defined Functions' at: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/getstarted.htm BTW, the Workbook_Open macro is a special event procedure that fires automatically each time the parent workbook is opened. This macro does not appear in the macro list. For more information on Event Procedures, see Chip Pearson at: http://www.cpearson.com/excel/events.htm --- Regards, Norman "Lynn" wrote in message ... when i tried to run Tools - Macro, i don't see the Workbook_Open macro there. where did i do wrong?
