Advanced topic: Communicate via IP address
Hi all,
I have a need to use excel to send/recieve data from a control box that sits on the lan with it's own IP address... How can I use VBA to chat with this box? Thanks, MP |
Advanced topic: Communicate via IP address
Hey,
I've used Microsoft's communication control in the past. If I'm not mistaken (I could well be) it's MSCOMM32.OCX. NOte that I'm pretty sure this is only normally licensed and available with a VB installation. At least I can't find it on the machine I'm using at the moment. I used it for RS232 control but it should be pretty easy to use it for IP stuff - I would imagine at least. If you have it, you just drag and drop it onto a user form.
