Security and Macro Enable help
 

I have writen a small program that opens a form when a excel file i
opened. I had a problem the other day where the Security was set suc
that the macros would not work and the form didn't open.

Is there a way to make certain the the macros will always work so tha
my form will always open?

Also excel is always asking if I want to enable macros, is there
command that will automatically enable macros on opeing an excel file.
This is so that the user doesn't get confused.

Jimbo,
You can change the security setting for macros in Excel. Go to Tools
Macros Security... and change the setting to Low.
You will have to close Excel and re-open it for the setting take effect.

Is there a way to ensure this? For instance if someone else opens Exce
and changes the security, then the macros wouldn't work again, correct

Security level settings only affect the user who sets them. They don't get kept
with the workbook.

The security change must be done on each machine using the macro. It doesn't
change the macro itself. When I put out a macro to a large group, I also tell
them how to change the security setting. Often it is set to "High" and users
don't even know that a macro is attached to a workbook.

Best way to ensure your code runs is to sign it with a code signing
certificate
from either verisgn or thawte.
If uses setting is high or very high security then it still may not work
If you totally want to avoid this issue write your code in .net and set
appropriate security in that
