counting everytime red cells turn white per column
 

Hi,

i need to know if this is possible, if it is then this would be an
amazing help, especially if i got given any code!

Ok, i have many columns of cells, its from columns D to AV, as i have a
user filling the columns in the cells they fill in aren't known, but
they will only fill in from D5:AV369. what i need to do is track
everytime there is a group of cells in the column which have the letter
"S" in (inputed by user), the way i was thinking of tracking it is when
the columns cells turn white again, this would have "IN" written in the
white cells, which would be after the red cells and the number would be
incremented everytime there is a group of cells.

NB. i don't want to count the individual red cells, just count
everytime a block of red cells is inputed. So 5 red cells down a column
one after the other, then a white cell would only be 1 as there is one
lot of red cells. I need to count this for each column so each column
will have a number and obviously that number increments everytime there
is a group of red cells, even if it is 1 red then 1 white that would
still be counted as a group, basicaly i'm counting everytime red cells
turn white per column.

Hope this isn't too confusing and any help from anyone would be much
appreciated!

Seems to me that you do want to count by colour but you are counting
every instance of white in a range.......................you can get
all the code and help you need
here....http://www.cpearson.com/excel/colors.htm loads of great help
here with worked examples!
