Can someone please tell me how to prevent my Norton Antivirus from scanning
every workbook I open.

In the options of Norton you can turn of the Office scan

The file is already scanned when you copy it or download it.

It took me a while to find the Office plugin option under Miscellaneous, but
it seems to work. Many thanks Josh
