MICOSOFT GIF FILES: patent issue
I have developed a program which makes use of a fair number of WINDOWS gif files, some lifted "as is" and others "re-morphed" to suit. I now intend to propagate the program in an education setting but the scheme sails somewhat too close to the commercial. I have read the END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT governing the use of Microsoft softwares but failed to get the definitive answer in all of the legal trammels spelt out. Can someone kindly fill me, if advisorily. This is a peer to peer exchange. Just users helping users.
I don't know how many lawyers we have that post in this forum, but you may want to get your legal advice from a different source. davidm wrote: I have developed a program which makes use of a fair number of WINDOWS gif files, some lifted "as is" and others "re-morphed" to suit. MICOSOFT GIF FILES: patent issue
David,
For legal advice, Dave has already said. If you are worried, then don't use them. There are thousands of free examples available or do your own from scratch. Or use the gifs available on the user's computer. If it is a gif, it cannot be vital to the functioning of your app. NickHK "Dave Peterson" wrote in message ... This is a peer to peer exchange.
