Why can't you assign an identifying sequence number to messages? Once
posted, because there are so many, and because there is such an unpredictable
delay in when they are finally posted, as well as time zone differences, it
is usually impossible to return to them to see if anyone has responded. They
are simply impossible to find. Have you ever thought about instituting
basic usability testing for your products? In this case, it would have
revealed this serious problem.

A sequence number would not be of much help, Because newsgroup
postings are in threads.

I would certainly suggest using a newsreader instead of a web based
interface to newsgroups so that you can see the threads.
If you must use a web interface to get past a firewall, then use
Google Groups to bypass most problems, such as.

1) you experienced in the CDO (communities), and would also encounter
in many other web based interfaces.
2) interference with web pages by making postings webpages such as excelforum
3) messed up coding from HTML usage and deliberate changes
such as in Google Groups, where you should look to original source
when copying code.

Exhell,
I guess you are using the web interface to this news group.

If you use a proper news reader (OE or Agent), you can mark those thread
that interest you and/or ignore those that don't.
In terms of time zones, a good reader will adjust all to your local time.

Try using the product that was designed for the job.
