How do I paste conditional formats WITHOUT pasting the borders, pattern, etc.
? Also, I want to be able to post the conditional formats with the 'usual'
use of $ in the formula.

So far so good, but what if I want the condition to be set relative to a
column in the same row as the source data in each case
A1 conditional on B1, A2 conditional on B2, etc.

Use formula is instead of cell is selection, then use relative references
putting formula for first cell in range

block a1:a300
Formatconditional format
formula is
=A1B1
format pattern Yellow
OK
now if AB A will turn yellow
for A1 to A300
