VB Code Works Perfect...but Not when the File is Shared
 

I have an excel file with a number of modules and workbook codes built
to limit access and provide differing functionality. The workbook is
made up of about 30 sheets that different people input data in. When
the file is placed on a share drive it deletes sheets at odd times and
sometimes deletes itself according to the users.

Are there different programming commands to make an excel VB file work
on a share drive?

I am using Excel 2003 and those who are sharing and accessing this fil
are using Excel 2002. Is that more likely to be the problem?

Do you mean that the workbook is shared (tools|share workbook) or just that the
workbook is stored on a common share on a network?

I don't use Shared workbooks very much, but I wouldn't think the versions would
be too much of trouble.

Have you tried deleting a worksheet in a shared workbook?

It's one of the things that isn't allowed.

But I've never seen excel delete a workbook or worksheets from a file stored on
a shared drive. (But the highest version of xl we used was xl2k.)

I'd keep an eye out for user error.

I asked the user, and the file is actually stored on a shared drive
but apparently not set up as a shared file.

You are definitely right about the user error part. That was my firs
guess, so I am trying to get access to the location where they ar
using the file and I will test it myself.
