Cell position / pass values
 

Hi Folks
I have two spreadsheets open side by side and would like to have
formulas in spreadsheet 2 that change values based on the cursor
position in spreadsheet 1. How can I read the cursor position of
spreadsheet 1 into spreadsheet 2? Or better said..... How can I create
a formula to read for example the third character from the left of the
current cell in spreadsheet 1 and have this value change in spreadsheet
2 when the current cell in spreadsheet 1 changes?
