Autoload a book of macros ?
I have a couple of macros which I would like to be always available when I
use excel. Can someone advise me the best method to make these available automatically on start up of excel ( note - I do not want to auto run them, just make them available). I would also prefer not to always have a visible spreadsheet open in the background if at all possible. Many thanks for any help. Richard |
Autoload a book of macros ?
Hi,
1) To make the book non-visible: - go in the vba editor (ALT+F11) - in the Project Explorer window (if not visible goto menu View Project Explorer), select the book containing the macros - in the Properties Window (if not visible got menu View Properties Window), set the AddIn property to True - Click Save NOw the book doesn't show in the XL interface. 2) To make the macros always available:\ - move the book to the Excel Start directory XLSTART: C:\Documents and Settings\<username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART -- replace <username by your login name. -- Regards, Sébastien <http://www.ondemandanalysis.com "Richard" wrote: I have a couple of macros which I would like to be always available when I use excel. hi,
put them in a workbook. name it personal. save the personal workbook to the xl start up directory. then hide it. it will open when you start excel. for more info, in excel help type excel start up.
