Hi,

Can anybody point me in the right direction in finding information in
creating customized help files, particular html help (chm) files. So far my
search has been futile.

have a look at

This is the best way to create html help files without spending money on a
proper package like robohelp. Note that it's quite manual and slow going.

I use the Microsoft HTML Help Workshop for this.

Create a number of HTML pages for each section of help, including hyperlinks
within the pages, and then use the HTML Help Workshop to create a chm file.


You can get the workshop at
