i was wondering if anyone knew of a macro formula or any formula tha
would create an optimization button so that whenever you clicked th
button it would select the best combination of three values in d2:f2 s
that i2 will be the most minumum value possibl

Help us understand what you are asking. D2:F2 is only thre
cells...therefore whatever the SUM of those three cells...it is th
minimum (and for that matter, the maximum) it can be.

What are we missing?

I2=SUM(D2:F2)

basically i am creating a forecast model where d2:f2 alpha, beta an
delta values. (that all alter the forecast)

i2 is the sum of squares of the errors between the forecasted data an
the real values

It sounds to me that the tool you need is Solver... found on the mai
menu under ToolsSolver.
