Excel Query linking to External (outside domain) SQL server

I have a 2003 xls file that has a query to pull in data from an external SQL
server that is on the same network. I want to move this xls file outside
(onto a webserver) that is outside the domain but still link it to the SQL
server
can I do this and how?
