I am Complete beginner and wish to multiply a cell containing mins & seconds by another cell with a figure to give a result of "X" amount of money. Sorry if its stupid. Thanks in advance Using Exel 2002 |

This means no problem:
excel knows only one kind of numbers but many ways of displaying them - these are called formats and you can change them in Format / Cells / Number. You can multiply numbers as you wish but always remember what the result means. BTW: Consider if excel.programming is the most suitable group for you. |

Date and time in Excel is easy once you know what it is, but too few people do.
