Default Using excel as a database

Is it possible to use a web browser to make a series of decisions and
then access an EXCEL file and extract data from this to calculate
prices etc...?

I want to use the excel file in this way as it would make life easier
for everyone in my company as we all receive the same file. So when the
prices are updated, they can all be updated by simply just replacing the
old file with the new one.

I want to choose the size of a product and the type of product which
wil then determine which cell the data comes from in the spreadsheet.

Any help whatsoever would be appreciated.

Cheers,

David
