How do I use the AutoSum?

I have a macro that starts at the top of a column(sorted by date) and moves
down row by row and inserts two blank lines when the date changes. I know
want to go down the rows again and sum the hours for each block by date and
then copy to the cells next to it.

This was answered in "Summing columns after insert rows" - I apologize, but I
missed the reply.

Instead of doing a macro and inserting rows then tallying the sums... try
using the subtotal command on the data menu.. It will do everything you're
describing (and add cool grouping icons to the left) without any coding that
has to be maintained..

I followed your instructions and you are absolutely correct. This is great
tool. There are some other formating issues that go along with the project,
so it will be of great help.
