Need to fix the number filed so all numbers are 8 in length

not all the numbers are the same.

it must be 8 numerical fields but some numbers are
well let me show you an example.

01234567
12345678
123
47864
3456763

They need to fixed up to look like:

01234567
12345678
00000123
00047864
03456763

How do I get excell 2003 to do this for me? Or does it need to be a script
of some sort?

JMB

Need to fix the number filed so all numbers are 8 in length

unless Microsoft made some radical changes between Office 2000 and Office
2003 you could select the range you want formatted and

Click on Format/Cells, select custom format and key in 00000000 in the text
box.
