DisplatAlerts doesn't work
I made my workbook read only so that users cannot select the chart on a
chart sheet. Now when I open my workbook it displays a message: 'Workbook should be opened as read only unless you intend to save changes to it. Open as read only?' I put Application.DisplayAlerts = Flase in the OnOpen code first line but it wont go away. Does anyone know how to get rid of it ? Any help much appreciated, kind regards, Mark |

It actually sounds like you checked the "Read-only recommended" box on the:
File|SaveAs|tools|General Options dialog. If you give that workbook a "password to modify" on the same dialog, then the user will be prompted for a password when trying to open (or they can click the open readonly button). Another option may be to use windows explorer to mark the file ReadOnly. The users won't be prompted and the workbook will be opened readonly (no prompting at all).
