payroll record help
Hi Folks,
I am stumped as to limiting an "if" statement in my payroll spreadsheet. basically, my wage rate is as follows... * straight time (8 hrs.) * time and a half after 8, till 10 hrs. (2hrs.) * double time after 10 my problem is with limiting the "time & a half" collumn to 2 hrs. D7=IF(B78,B7-8,0) I'm not sure I'm being coherent with what I'm trying to relate to this group, so I uploaded a sample of what I've got to the web for your viewing. http://home.att.net/~thegeeze/ Any insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated. thx |

D7=IF(B7<=8,B7,if(B7<=10,8+(B7-8)*1.5,11+(b7-10)*2,0))

Apologize. The formula should be
=IF(B7<=8,B7,IF(B7<=10,8+(B7-8)*1.5,11+(B7-10)*2)) Alok Joshi "atwest" wrote: thx for the quick reply... but I can't get the formula you suggest to work. "Alok" wrote in message ... D7=IF(B7<=8,B7,if(B7<=10,8+(B7-8)*1.5,11+(b7-10)*2,0)) |

If what you want is the number of hours paid at time and a half, and the
number paid at double time then put this formula in D4 and drag down. =IF(B4-C42,2,B4-C4) Then put this in E4 and drag down =IF(D4=0,0,B4-C4-D4) Mike F "atwest" wrote in message ...
