OLE text runs together

Using my office Excel 2002/ Win2000, OLE inserts have messed up fonts. The
letters run together in a yucky manner. My home computer running same Excel
and operating system is fine.
I've explored OLE Format Object with mouse right click, but there is no
obvious solution.
What is happening? Is there a easy fix?
