give cells the same name
Hello!
I want to do the following: I have two sheets, let's say Sheet1 and Sheet2. On every sheet I want to name the cells "A1" with "customer". The problem is, when I name Sheet1!A1 and after that Sheet2!A1 the name of Sheet1!A1 gets deleted. I know, how to do this with the SHIFT-Key, but I do not want the cells to have a relation. So if I change Cell Sheet1!A1, this should have no effect on Sheet2!A1. They should only have the same name. Thanks for any help. give cells the same name
Hi Christian,
On every sheet I want to name the cells "A1" with "customer". include the sheet name when creating the name, eg. type sheet1!customer and sheet2!customer. However, I would recommend, that you create one template sheet with all the names etc. then you can simply copy that sheet for each new customer and you'll get the same with less work. arno |

An alternative to consider define the name "customer" =Indirect("A1") This way you define it once and dependent on which sheet the formula =customer is will decide the returned value. HTH and let us know RES |
