i know this isnt necissarily a excel question but im not sure where else to
ask.
if i have a folder called test on the desktop and in properties i clicked
hidden, how can i go back and unhide it?

Here is one way. In windows explorer Select Tools - options - View and
check view hidden files and folders. Click the button to make this the
default setting for all folders. Now you can go into C:\Documents and
Setting\???\desktop... find the file and change the property... I think that
should work...

Not sure why this in in the Excel.Programming group ...

Anyway, you can fix this by what Jim has stated. This will allow you to
*see* the folder(s). You can actually still navigate to your hidden
folders/files by typing it in the address bar in your folder (make sure that
toolbar is active/shown).
