Troubleshoot XML Maps automatically generated by Excel

I'm having problems with the inferred schema created automatically by Excel.
I'm having difficulty finding the elements of my original data sheet and
draging them onto the excel workbook. My original format has four columns of
data, in a matrix fashion, once I save the sheet as an XML file, then try to
map the data- i'm only able to find one element with a linear version of the
original data.
Any suggestions?
