Accessing solver in XL2003 from vb
I have a vb program that loads an Xl spreadhseet with all the necessary
formulas stored in it, loads data into it and calls solver by calling an XL macro with the appropriate settings in it. Under XL 97 adn W2K this worked beautifully. Unfortunately when I took it to XP and XL 2003 it crashes with an "unexpected error". If I load the spreadsheet and enter the data manually, the macro runs just fine. So the issue is why does solver crash when the macro is called from vb? I strongly suspect this is a "security" issue, but I haven't been able to fix it (notice I didn't say "solve it"). Does anyone know what I have to do to make this go. Alternatively, does anyone know if I can access solver32.dll directly from vb? Is so how do I find out what functions to call and how to declare them in vb? |
