Digital signature, code alters VBE

Using Excel 2000 to 2003.
Was thinking about using a digital security signature, but there is one
problem.
I have an add-in that can add code to the project by writing to the VBE.
I suppose due to this digital signatures can't work.
If this is so would there be any solution to this?

Could you just keep the "new" code in text files and import each time
the xla starts? Presumably if the xla is never saved in an altered
state that would not invalidate the signature...

That is actually exactly what is happening.
The new code is in text files and the .xla never gets saved by the users
with
the altered code. So I presume it will be OK.
