activesheet paste error

My company recently upgraded to xp pro from 2k. Every macro involving a
copy paste is failing with a 1004 error during the paste method. We
have 1 machine that has not been upgraded. The macros still work on
this machine. Our head office will not allow us to keep the one machine
on 2k. We are talking about 100's
if not 1000's of man hours lost if a solution cannot be found.

Thanks for any help

Have you changed Excel versions as well. Have you gone from xl97 or xl2K to
xl2002 or xl2003?

Are the worksheets you are pasting to protected?

do you have any problem performing the paste operation manually.

I thought I had replied earlier this morning but it hasn't shown up
yet.
To answer the questions.
The macros were written in xl 2002 and xl 2000. We are now using xl
2003.
The worksheets are not protected.
I can manually paste with no problem.

I didn't see anything on the knowledge base on this. xl2000 and xl2003 are
very similar as far as code is concerned. Nothing jumps to mind and I
don't recall ever seeing this type of problem posted here before. You can
try searching the archives yourself.
