Number entered into cell is dividide by 100. Not fixed by Cell For

I use Excel 2003.
When I enter a number into a cell it automatically divides it by 100. For
example if I enter in "8" and hit enter, "0.08" shows up in the cell.

Making a different selection in "Cell Format" does not fix the problem. I
have also tried looking under Tools/options/edit none of those options make a
difference either.

This problem started within the last two weeks. Before then it was working
normally. When I create new workbooks they all behave this way. Also if I
open a workbook from a project before these problems, new data entered takes
this format.

Is it possible that I could have hit some combination of keys unknowingly
that could turn on this issue? For example, the otherday I stumbled accross
the Euro symbol because I must have hit the right combination of asci code to
enter that symbol.

I would be very thankful for any help

Tools/Options/Edit. Uncheck the Fixed Decimals checkbox.
