Menu updates, Administrator VS limited account

When I update my Excel menu (by hand) as an administrator, the system is
kind enough to save my updates from session to session. When I go over to
my limited access account, I can still update my menus, but the updates do
not presist when closing and re-opening Excel. What do I need to do to get
that to work? Can I get by without giving my limited account administrator
access?

Am using Windows XP, Office 97. Searched where you said and then my C:\
drive and
could not find any .xlb file. Was my search wrong or does Office 97 use a
different technology?

Find the folder which contains the xlb file (Usually in your profile)
eg. For Excel 2003 on Windows XP, it lives as C:\Documents and

Settings\<my
username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\Excel11.xlb

Check the permissions on the folder and the file.

I think under Office 97, the default location of that file is
C:\Windows\username8.xlb
