Excel Purge & Murge Mailing Lists

Combine records from 2 tables whenever there are matching values .

Dear Colleague;

We are seeking for a way to purge and merge two similar listings. We also
know that there is a way to do it but we can't find it.

The INNER JOIN OPERATION allows to << Combine records from two tables
whenever there are matching values in a common field

We would like to know where can we get this information and do we need to
buy additional Excel software to do this type of work?

I can only outline the possibilities here but hopefully let you know what is
involved and get you started:

Use Microsoft Query to query and combine the lists. You hint at this since
you discuss inner joining the tables. You would first need to put the two
lists into one workbook and save it. Then start a new workbook and from the
Data menu choose "Get External Data... New Database Query." This should
start you into MSQuery. You need to specify the data source - choose
Microsoft Excel and then specify the file containing your lists. You can
then choose the list ranges or sheets and load them into MSQuery, join them
together, choose the output fields, and enter your criteria (see MSQuery help
file for details). When done you can return the data to Excel and you should
have your new combined/purged list.

For more info do a search for "External Data" or "Microsoft Query" in either
Excel help or in the MSDN library.
