Thks everyone for the responses. Rob van Gelder, this is interesting have check the "Hide extensions for known file types" option in m windows XP and is damn sure it is unchecked. Have check out you website, it is cool and i will be visiting your website if i have an problems so do keep adding things. :) I have tried out the following codes too but none actually works for m except .open command. Geez, I have a very bad feeling my windows XP doe not like me very much. Guess have to let this mystery rest in peace. :confused: workbooks("filename.xls").activate windows("filename.xls").activate application.windows("filename.xls").activate once again thks but should anyone of you have the answer PLS DO info m by sending me a private message. these other c'codes' can't work unless the file is open.
