Hi,

who can tell me where I can find a (inline command) tool which converts a
*.txt file to a *.xls file?

first of all its good if you tell us what kind of data are in your text
file. and in which form you want to convert it to excel, i mean to say
in column or in row format!

any way you can try in excel

data get external data import text file then chose your txt file and
follow the instruction to break each word or line, with delimter.

Sujata, thanks!

The txt files are ready to be opened in Excel in column format by users and
that does work.

However the conversion has to be done by a Win app so I need something like
a command line tool which can be called by the app and then saves a xls file
on a HDD.
