Pasting cells without border info.

Please can somebody help with what I'm sure is pretty simple but I cannot
work out how do code it:

I have a number of cells each of which is made up of 3 merged cells.
Using code, I want to copy the cell "A" contents and shading excluding the
border info. and paste into cell "B", retaining the existing border of cell
"B"

TIA

If you can do it manually, turn on the macro recorder and do it. Then look at
the code to see which commands are needed, modify as necessary.
