Default Using a Macro to Sum a Variable-Length Range (a Column)

To me, this appears to be more straightforward:

'TO NAME A VARIABLE-LENGTH RANGE STARTING FROM A FIXED CELL -- F1)
(ACTIVE CELL IS MOOT)
Set TopCell = Range("F1")
Range(TopCell, TopCell.End(xlDown)).Name = "TEST1"

'TO NAME A SINGLE CELL (the ACTIVE CELL)
Range("G1").Select
Set TopCell = ActiveCell
Range(TopCell, TopCell).Name = "TEST2"
