recvery msg and excel shut down

Sounds like something is corrupt. Try holding down shift while opening the
file in question. If it opens, the macros will be disabled but you may be able to get access to the vb project. Export all the modules and forms, start a new workbook, import all the modules and forms. compile. save with a new name. It just might work.
