expertise.

I now know how to use msgbox for debugging strings.

What I have found is that in the my code the sName string
does not work - using the following the msgbox show
nothing.

Dim sName As String, sDate As String

sName = (Left(Range("B1"), 4))
sDate = "" & Format(DateSerial(Year(Date), Month
(Date) - 1, 1), "mmm yy")

MsgBox sName & sDate

End Sub

= date only, no name

sName is suppose to get the first four letters in
cell "B1". Any Ideas why it does not do it.
